Awareness of Cultural Diversity

                The United States is home to many different people originating from many different countries. Everyone is from somewhere and has brought here their cultural traditions. If it weren’t for the foreign inputs, the United States would be much different probably in a worse way. This is an economy of diversity in all aspects. Varying cultures open varying opportunities.

                A significant opportunity that cultural diversity has offered is education. There are classes to learn foreign languages and about their cultures and to study abroad. Having knowledge of foreign culture opens many opportunities like a better quality of life from taking advantage of the knowledge. The awareness of diversity benefits businesses and individuals in different ways. Immigrants created this country, and the United States is still growing.

                Another result of cultural diversity is that many people eventually adapt to and incorporate some different cultural traditions into their lives. It allows individuals to be familiar and comfortable with new things. Therefore, there is an increased amount of acceptance. With the accepting of cultural diversity, we tend to, more often than not, also purchase foreign products. Also, many people learn the art of a culture and create their own production of items.

                Because of the awareness, people are now incorporating foreign food into their diets. In turn, it creates business opportunities for restaurants or recipes. There is also financial assistance available for minorities by the government. As time goes on, more people are immigrating to the United States for a better quality of life. As a result, I think the economy could improve if the immigrants contribute appropriately and sufficiently where needed.

                Since the beginning of this country, people from all over have contributed to the nation, making American culture a mixture of cultures from all over the world. We as a nation continue to build relationships with other countries and continue to open doors for immigrants. Although immigrants are not accepted by everyone, people’s tolerance for immigrants is increasing significantly. The biggest effect of the awareness of cultural diversity is opportunity for everyone. With knowledge and awareness, I feel you can’t go wrong.
